A craft retailer finding her pricing floor

The Challenge

A handmade craft business in George Town had strong repeat customers but the owner felt she was always working more than the income suggested. She could not identify where the problem was and had never sat down with anyone outside the business to look at it properly.

The Engagement

The First Sprout Review revealed that several product lines were priced well below their effective cost per unit. This was not immediately obvious because the owner tracked revenue but not time. The follow-on Careful Growth Advisory created a simple reworked pricing structure and a plan to introduce it without losing regulars.

The Outcome

Eight months after the pricing changes, the owner reported working roughly the same hours but generating approximately 22% more per month. She also noted that having a clear rationale for her prices made conversations with wholesale buyers considerably easier.

The Challenge

The owner of a small electrical services business in Butterworth was approaching 60 and thinking about eventually stepping back from day-to-day operations. He had no succession plan and was not sure what that would even involve for a business his size.

The Engagement

Monthly sessions over twelve months explored what the business would need in place for a gradual handover — from documenting key relationships to reviewing which tasks genuinely required the owner versus which could be delegated. A shared living plan tracked progress session by session.

The Outcome

By the end of the programme, a trusted employee had taken on the scheduling and client liaison functions. The owner was working three days a week instead of five. He described the business as feeling less fragile, and more ready for the next chapter on his own terms.
